Thankfully We Survived With Little Damage
The storm last Saturday was really an eye-popper! Still, considering what people elsewhere across the country are experiencing, this was pretty minor. Our sign was bent, and I have no doubt, had it been facing north, it would have been bent to the ground.

Our Roof Lost a Lot of Shingles
I arrived at Hebron Animal Hospital about thirty minutes after the storm, and I was shocked to see huge areas of the roof blown clean of shingles. We did get some water inside, but luckily it missed our critical areas and just made some small puddles on the floor.

Shingles Were Scattered Everywhere
Shingles from our roof were blown in a debris field extending a hundred yards or more. In addition, our neighbor lost a barn and the wind snapped four poles and blew a billboard half-way across the adjoining field. Five of the huge power transmission towers across the road were blown flat. That's some wind!

A Semi at the Neighboring Business Was Blown Flat
From my experience it takes winds in excess of 90 mph to do this. The National Weather Service estimated the peak winds to be 110 mph. It wasn't a tornado, but it was an impressive storm!
All we lost is one day at work while NIPSCO repairs the electric lines. All-in-all it could have been much worse!
